Got pimples? Never mind those expensive and heavily-advertised acne treatments on the market. They tend to dry out the skin and cause redness and irritation. Why not try this home remedy. All you need is medical tape and a long night in.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
- medical tape
- soap and water
- face towel
- Step1First and foremost, wash your hands before touching your face. Your hands have a lot of bacteria, dirt, and oil that can lead to further pimples.
- Step2Wet a face towel with warm, soapy water. Scrub your face, making sure to clean the creases around your nose since your nose produces a lot of sebum. Rinse your face with water and pat it dry.
- Step3Now unravel about an inch of medical tape and cut it into half-inch squares. Avoid touching the sticky part of the tape since you will be directly applying this too your pimples.
- Step4Apply the tape squares to your pimples. Leave them there overnight. In the morning, peel them off and you will see the pus that leaked out on the medical tape.
- Step5Rinse your face once more to get rid of any leftover pus that may be oozing out of your face. Do this for about three nights in a row and the pimples should be completely gone.
What Is the Best Treatment for an Aging & Oily Face?
As women get older, we focus on finding treatments to slow down the signs of aging. For those women who also have oily skin, it can become difficult to obtain a treatment that will correct both skin problems. Aside from over-the-counter products, chemical peels can offer the best results for each of these skin issues.- Glycolic acid peels are the most popular type of peel. These are commonly known as Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). Salicylic peels are known as Beta hydroxy acids (BHA). Trichloroacetic acid peels (TCA) are the least common type of peel.
- A chemical peel is a solution that is applied to the face. It removes the top layer of skin. In some cases, it may be applied to specific areas such as the back, hands or chest.
- Chemical peels can reduce blackheads and blemishes. Skin may become less oily with improved overall skin texture. Chemical peels help to rebuild collagen and elastin. They reduce acne scarring and hyper-pigmentation and may decrease the appearance of fine lines. These effects are temporary.
- Once the top layer of skin has been peeled, your skin
care products will become more effective. - Chemical peels can be applied by a licensed Aesthetician in concentrations up to 30%. Concentrations of more than 30% should only be performed by a doctor. Scarring is a risk of chemical peels.
- Peels should be done every six weeks to maintain the results
Skin Care for Oily Acne Skin
It's embarrassing when you suffer from acne no matter what age you are. Acne can hurt a person's self-esteem and make him or her feel embarrassed to go out in public. Keeping the skin in perfect balance is one of the most effective ways to keep acne to a minimum. Skin that's too dry or oily can create an imbalance, leading to excessive face acne. If you have overly oil skin with acne, there are ways to keep the skin in perfect harmony, promoting healthy, young skin.- Do not overwash the skin. Washing the skin more frequently will not make is less oily; it can actually do just the opposite. Wash the face only twice a day unless you perspire often. Always was the face after working out, wearing a hat or helmet to remove any debris or buildup on the face. Wash the face with a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid soaps that dry out the skin and use a face wash intended to treat oily skin with acne. Spot-treat problem areas of acne with a cleanser, using only the fingertips. Do not use cloth or other applicators as they can irritate the skin.
- Avoid aggravating substances such as facial masks, toners and exfoliates as these products do not help with acne. Many of these products can cause skin irritation, promoting the spread and development of acne. Avoid hair products that are greasy in texture. Keep the hair away from the forehead and face to retain proper balance in the skin. Do not use rubbing alcohol. It can dry the skin out, which can send the skin into an overly dry state, encouraging an acne breakout. Avoid rubbing, popping or scrubbing acne as this can cause an infection or irritate the skin.
- Use sunscreen at all times, even when it's not hot outside. The UV rays from the sun can irritate and aggravate the skin, causing an acne outbreak. Purchase makeup with sunscreen built in to the ingredients so you never have to think about putting it on. Generously apply sunscreen above 30 SPF when staying longer than 10 minutes in direct sunlight, exposing the skin to snow or sand. These reflect the UV rays onto the skin, making it more intense.
